Status yellow wind warning for Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Motorists are being advised to take extra care on roads in the city and county this morning as adverse weather is making conditions dangerous.
Gale force winds and rain have hit many parts of the county overnight resulting in fallen debris and surface water.
The City Council is attending to a fallen tree at Devon Park in Salthill and motorists are advised to allow extra time if taking that route.
Met Eireann says a Status Yellow wind warning is in place until later this morning.
There have been gales of up to 65 kilometres per hour – these have hit 100 kilometres per hour in some areas.
There are also large amounts of surface water on all roads in the city and county this morning and gardaí are advising motorists to slow down and remain a good distance back from the car in front.
