Major surge in Galway home sales

Galway Bay fm newsroom – There’s been a major surge in the number of homes sold in Galway over the past 3 months.
Figures from the property price register show that over 600 homes were sold between July and September – a rise of over 60 percent.
There were 652 homes sold across the county between July and September this year – a 63 percent surge compared to the period between April and June.
The sale price of those homes totaled 116 million euro – that figure represents an impressive 80 percent increase on the figure for the second quarter.
The average price of a home sold in Galway during that period was 178 thousand euro, well below the national average of 235 thousand.
The most expensive county property sold in the third quarter was Moyveela on the Prom at Salthill, which fetched just under 2 million euro in August.
According to the Irish Independent, the biggest surge in home sales was in Co. Waterford, which saw a rise of 67 percent between July and September.
Meanwhile, the biggest rise in the overall total of home sales was in Co. Kilkenny, which saw a staggering 94 percent increase.
