Galway Bay Fm newsroom-Motorists are being warned of planned road closures which come into effect in Athenry and Portumna from tomorrow. (Mon 25/1)
Night-time road closures will begin tomorrow at Portumna Bridge to facilitate essential maintainance works.
The closure comes into effect from tomorrow evening and will remain in place until the 5th of February.
The bridge road will remain open during the day, but will close between 7pm and 6am.
The Athenry closure will facilitate resurfacing works at the level crossing on the L3103 at Prospect, on the outskirts of Athenry town.
The closure will be in effect from 8am to 5pm from Monday the 25th until Friday the 29th.
Diversions will be in place for the duration of the resurfacing works, which are being carried out on behalf of Irish Rail.
Paul Greene with contractor KN says the works are significant.
