A family escaped uninjured but their home was badly damaged in a house fire in Ballygar last evening. (Saturday)
Two units of the fire brigade, one from Mountbellew and another from Roscommon were called to the scene and got the fire under control.
The alarm was raised shortly after 6 pm and the fire fighters were quickly on the scene.
The occupants of the house escaped uninjured but the house in Ballygar town was extensively damaged in the blaze.
