Galway Bay Fm newsroom-A flood alleviation group in Ballinasloe is urging members of the public to attend a consultation in the town and Ahascragh this Monday(11th) to discuss flood mapping in the area.
Meetings will take place in Ballinasloe and Ahascragh tomorrow to discuss new flood maps for each area as part of the River Shannon CFRAM survey.
The survey aims to compile up-to-date and accurate risk assessment across the Shannon catchment region on behalf of the Office of Public Works.
The meetings will get underway at the Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Ballinasloe and at Clinton’s Pub in Ahascragh from 2pm to 7.30 pm this Monday.
Michael Tully of Flood Alleviation Ballinasloe says it’s vital for those affected by flooding, either in the past few weeks or in 2009 to attend.
