Dozens of Galway farmers who had planned to protest at the headquarters of the Irish Farmers Association tomorrow have called off the campaign.
More than 60 farmers from IFA branches in North Galway were angry over the structure of the organisation and the salaries paid to the Executive.
The protest was due coincide with a meeting of the National Executive of the IFA in Dublin at 11 am tomorrow.
However, the Executive Board has agreed to step aside to allow full elections to take place in the Spring and the protest has been called off.
They’ve also agreed changes to their terms of office, reverting from a 4 year term to two 2-year terms.
