Galway Bay fm newsroom – Gardai are working with the County Council in a bid to improve road safety in Connemara.
The issue has been raised at County Joint Policing Committee level, where Chief Superintendent Tom Curley admitted that an increase in traffic incidents is a cause for concern.
The Gardai are now liasing with the County Council to examine accident blackspots in the region to assess the need for increased road markings and signage.
Sinn Fein Councillor Tom Healy says Connemara roads are busier than ever and road safety is a serious issue.
