Raw sewage still being discharged at five county locations

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Raw sewage is being discharged into the sea and rivers at five locations across the county.
Roundstone, Carraroe, Spiddal, Ahascragh and Kinvara are among a list of 43 areas nationwide which have seen essential upgrade works delayed.
Raw sewage is being discharged at each of these locations – according to a report from the Environmental Protection Agency.
It suggests the problems are due to a lack of investment in infrastructure which has dropped by 40 percent, in the last decade.
The EPA report also found the building of treatment plants in many areas have been delayed by up to two years.
