Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway businessman Declan Ganley has launched a multi-million euro legal action against the Mexican state.
It follows claims that his company, Rivada Networks, was ‘stitched up’ while bidding to build a six billion euro mobile network in Mexico.
The businessman alleges that a hijacker on a motorcycle attempted to steal his bidding documents for the project while he was delivering them to the Mexican authorities.
However, Declan Ganley says the boxes stolen were kept empty as a security precaution, and his bid was delivered seperately within the deadline.
It’s claimed the Mexican authorities are now refusing to consider the Rivada bid – claiming it did not contain a ‘letter of credit’ for over 40 million euro.
According to the Sunday Independent, Declan Ganley is taking the action against the Mexican State – insisting his company was fully compliant with all aspects of the bid process.
