Government to consider relocation scheme for Galway’s flood affected areas

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A relocation scheme covering homes prone to flooding in Galway and across the country could be in place by this winter.
Minister with responsibility for the issue, Galway East T.D, Seán Canney says it’s the ‘only solution’ for some people.
According to today’s Irish Times, a number of departments are contributing to a flooding report that’s due to come before Cabinet this month.
The scheme will be limited however, and will only help in areas where there is no other solution but some vulnerable farmyards may be considered.
