Galway Bay fm newsroom – Barnaderg has been granted more time to build a community centre.
Killererin Developement Company Limited had applied for a five year extension of time in which to build the facility.
The two storey building located at Knock would include an elderly day care centre, gym, meeting rooms, offices and sports hall.
Planning permission had been granted in 2011 and expired in June.
In its application, the voluntary group stated the development didn’t comence due to a downturn in the economy and difficulty in obtaining leader funding.
County planners have now granted the extension of time.
It will expire in July 2021.
