Galway Bay fm newsroom – Crowds are gathering in the city for the official opening of Galway’s Christmas Market which gets underway shortly. (20/11)
The launch of the market will be marked by a carnival-style parade from the Spanish Arch to Eyre Square at 5.30pm.
Ireland and Connacht player, Robbie Henshaw will be the guest of honour at this year’s opening event.
He’ll be joined by Mayor of Galway, Frank Fahy, the Town Crier, St. Patrick’s Brass Band and Claddagh School Choir.
It’s the 6th year of the Christmas market at Eyre Square, which will remain open until Tuesday December 22nd.
This year, the market has been expanded to include the Spanish Arch as well as the traditional Eyre Square location.
