Galway Bay fm newsroom – The boil water notice is to remain in place in Kilconnell as upgrade works continue in a bid to improve the supply.
The works include cleaning, sealing, capping of boreholes and optimisation of pumping rates.
The boil water notice was put in place in December due to water quality issues believed to have been caused by surface water and inadequate steel lining of pipes.
Water clarity levels will be monitored until the end of August and the effectiveness of the works will then be assessed.
Ballinasloe area Fine Gael councillor Aidan Donohue says progress is being made.
