Galway Bay fm newsroom – Plans for a housing development at Kiltullagh near Athenry have been turned down by the county council.
Denise Dunning, c/o Clarke Construction Design, applied for planning permission to build 14 homes with connection to the existing sewage treatment plant at Ashville.
However, council planners have turned down the proposal.
The development off the M6 motorway at Kiltullagh would have comprised 14 houses with connections to the existing treatment plant at Ashville.
In refusing planning permission for the development, county planners state that the safe treatment and disposal of effluent treatment from the proposed development could not be guaranteed.
This, they say, is due to the absence of sufficient evidence with respect to the polishing filter/treatment plant upgrade.
