Galway Bay fm newsroom – A new flood relief culvert will be installed under the railway line at Kiltartan in a bid to alleviate flooding in the region.
The work is to be carried out by Iarnród Eireann, and it’s hoped the culvert will take away built-up floodwaters in the area.
OPW Mnister and Galway East T.D Seán Canney says flooding in South Galway requires a multi-agency approach.
He says the works by Irish Rail will go some way to preventing serious flooding in the future.
