Galway Bay fm newsroom – More time is being sought to build a community centre in Barnaderg.
The two-storey building located at Knock would include an elderly day care centre, gym, meeting rooms, offices and sports hall.
Killererin Development Company Limited has applied for a five year extension of time in which to build the facility.
Planning permission had been granted in 2011 and expires this month.
In its application, the voluntary group states the development didn’t commence due to a downturn in the economy and difficulty in obtaining leader funding.
County planners are due to make a decision next month.
