Galway Bay fm newsroom – A new STEM building will be the cornerstone of GMIT’s campus development plan set to be unveiled in the coming months.
The facility will cater to students who wish to study in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths.
Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate subjects, the STEM facility at GMIT will integrate the subjects into a cohesive learning programme based on real-world applications.
Last year, a Science Foundation Ireland report found the overwhelming majority of people believe that a consistent supply of STEM graduates is critical to Ireland’s economy.
GMIT says the new building at its Dublin Road campus is a priority capital project in its campus development plan, which is currently being finalised.
The college says the plan will be launched in the coming months and will be made available to the public.
