New city-based organisation to offer social support service to west of Ireland

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A new social support service for the west of Ireland will be launched in the city this Thursday.
Helplink Support Services is a non-profit organisation which will offer free or low cost social support services from a city-based Conflict Resolution Center.
The center will be based at Merchants road in the city and will offer a range of mediation services to people based on their ability to pay.
Residents across the county will be able to avail of professional support in areas including family, housing and community conflict mediation.
The resource will also offer programmes to secondary schools across the county in areas including conflict management and peer to peer mediation.
The new center will be launched by City Mayor Frank Fahy at City Hall on Thursday at 1pm.
Director of Helplink Lochlann Scott says there’s huge demand for the new resource.
