Galway Bay fm newsroom – The green light has been given for new community facilities at Newcastle in the city.
The City Council has granted planning permission to Newcastle Community Association Limited for the development at Fairlands Park.
The community facilities in Newcastle will include meeting rooms, a sports hall, tennis court and car park.
Planners have granted planning permission with 15 conditions attached.
One condition stipulates that the car park must be made available for use by the adjacent primary school.
Also, cycle parking must be provided within the site.
