Galway Bay fm newsroom – The County Council is launching an initiative to help boost business in towns and villages across Galway.
A draft Business Incentive Scheme has been drawn up, and will be presented to councillors at a meeting today.(Mon)
The plan aims to encourage and support the use of vacant commercial properties in the county’s larger towns which service and support the wider region.
The scheme also offers financial incentives for landlords and new businesses to take up the vacant units by lowering entry costs in the first three years of business.
It’s hoped the plan will contribute to economic development and regeneration of towns across the county.
Tuam area councillor Donagh Killilea says incentive for new business is something that has been sought by councillors for a long time.
