Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Ballinasloe man has taken his stepmother to the High Court in a dispute over a multi-million euro lotto win in 2011.
David Walsh, of Knocknagreena, claims he is owed 560 thousand euro after his stepmother Mary Walsh won 3.38 million euro from a ticket purchased in Ballinasloe.
The court heard that Mr Walsh alleges that he was one of six people who signed the back of the winning ticket and is entitled to one sixth of the money.
Ms Walsh, a business woman of Perssepark, Ballinasloe, denies the claims and argues that the ticket belongs to her and not her stepson.
The court was also told that following the win, Mr Walsh was gifted his late fathers family home.
According to the Irish Times, Mr Justice Paul Gilligan has fixed a date in November to hear the dispute.
