Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Roscommon-Galway TD is calling for government officials with responsibility for flood mitigation to resign.
Michael Fitzmaurice’s comments follow a report from the Comptroller and Auditor General, which found that a taskforce appointed to assess flood risks across the country did not meet for six years before last July.
According to the Irish Times, Deputy Fitzmaurice says he’s ‘disgusted’ at the findings, as many people across the Roscommon Galway constituency are still dealing with the aftermath of serious flooding.
He says those responsible should resign, or be laid off.
