Galway Bay fm newsroom – Cahergal National School in Tuam will be demolished and a new school built by mid 2017.
The school is currently assessing tenders for the construction project, and the Department of Education will then have to give the go-ahead for the works.
It’s hoped construction of the new single-storey, six-classroom school can get underway next month.
The development will include access roads, parking, a drop-off area and wastewater treatment plant, and will take around 12 months to complete.
