Galway Bay fm newsroom – Gardaí and emergency services carried out a search of the shoreline near Mutton Island in the city last night. (March 10)
It followed reports that a person had been calling for help in the area.
A search team, involving the coastguard helicopter, was despatched around 10p.m, however no-one in distress was found.
A further search will take place this morning as an extra precaution.
