Galway Bay fm newsroom – Gardai are continuing to question a man this evening following the seizure of drugs worth 30 thousand euro on the Headford Road.
The drugs, which include ecstasy and cocaine, were discovered at Ballinfoyle Park during a search conducted by the Drugs Unit.
In what’s being described as an intelligence led operation, Gardai from the Galway Drug Unit swooped on a house at Ballinfoyle Park shortly before 8 last night.
They discovered 30 thousand euro worth of drugs – 1,500 ecstasy tablets worth 15 thousand euro, Cannabis worth 10 thousand euro, and cocaine with an estimated street value of 5 thousand euro.
A twenty year old male was arrested at the scene and was taken to Mill Street Garda Station, where he’s being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardai say the operation involved advanced analytical and intelligence methods, and targeted criminal networks.
