Galway Bay fm newsroom – Two names have been added to the list of candidates for Galway for election in a fortnight.
The corrected list supplied today by the Returning Officer has two additional names for Galway East.
They are Aengus Melia of Direct Democracy Ireland and Mairead Ní Chroinín of the Green Party.
It has been confirmed that both Aengus Melia and Mairead Ní Chroinín have handed in their nomination papers and have been registered to run in the election on February 26th.
Their names are now included on the Notice to Poll list as confirmed by the Returning Officer for Galway who says their nomination papers were received on Wednesday.
Aengus Melia told Galway Bay fm news that he is going to contest the general election in Galway East on issues such as water charges, housing and health.
