Galway Bay fm newsroom – A high-level meeting to discuss issues affecting the Tiernee/Lettermore water supply will take place next week. (10/2)
It follows the carrying out of a review at the area’s water treatment plant by Irish Water in recent days.
Following the detection of Cryptosporidium last month, Irish Water immediately imposed a boil water notice on the area.
The utility has now carried out a review of the drinking water treatment process at the Tiernee/Lettermore treatment plant.
It says it will meet with the HSE and Galway County Council next week to discuss the findings of the review.
Irish Water also says the meeting will discuss and examine a range of possible solutions to a number of issues identified with the treatment process.
In the meantime, the boil water notice remains in place indefinitely for residents of the Tiernee/Lettermore area.
