Galway Bay fm newsroom – Nine candidates will battle it out in the hope of securing one of three seats in Galway East.
Sitting Fine Gael TDs Ciaran Cannon and Paul Connaughton will go head to head along with Fianna Fail’s Colm Keaveney.
They’ll be joined by Labour Senator Lorraine Higgins.
There’s three sitting County Councillors on the ticket too – Fianna Fáil’s Anne Rabbitte from Portumna, Independent Councillor Michael Fahy from Ardrahan and Independent Sean Canney from Claretuam.
These well-known Galway representatives will be joined by two new candidates – Sinn Féin’s Anne Marie Roche of Loughrea and Tuam’s Aengus Melia, who’s standing for Direct Democracy Ireland.
