Galway Bay fm newsroom – A post-mortem examination will be carried out today on a body found in a crashed car on the outskirts of the city.
Gardaí say the man – who was in his late 60s and is believed to be from the county – died after he crashed into trees on the Martin roundabout near Galway Clinic.
The man’s car was spotted by a member of the public yesterday afternoon, but it’s not known how long he’d been there.
Technical experts examined the scene last night and foul play appears to have been ruled out.
Today’s post-mortem examination will take place at University Hospital Galway and detectives have issued an appeal for witnesses.
