Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Galway county councillor is calling for the immediate disbandment of the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
Athenry-Oranmore area councillor Jim Cuddy says the functions of the organisation, which is part of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, should be transferred to local authorities.
Councillor Cuddy is tabling a motion at a meeting of the full council at the end of the month, calling for the NPWS to be disbanded.
