Galway Bay fm newsroom – A relocation scheme for people affected by flooding in parts of Galway needs to be set up again.
The programme was run previously implemented in 1995 and 2009 following heavy flooding.
Galway East T.D Ciaran Cannon says that even when drainage works are carried out, some areas will always be susceptible to flooding.
In 2011, 4 million euro was provided to relocate families to new homes.
Deputy Cannon says once this latest crisis is over, another relocation programme needs to be considered.
