Galway Bay fm newsroom – A city residents’ association is calling for the proposed ban on right hand turns at Taylor’s Hill-Kingston junction to be cancelled or postponed.
Maunsells Residents Association says the elimination of the turns will have serious implications for already high and dangerous traffic levels on Maunsells Road.
The proposed ban is set to be introduced next Monday and motorists will be unable to turn right from Taylors Hill Road onto Bishop O’Donnell Road – or from Kingston Road onto Threadneedle Road.
After a trial period of three months, the ban will be reviewed and a decision will be made if the right turn ban should be made permanent.
Maunsells Residents Association says the City Council previously ruled out the move in 2011 due to the impact it would have on congestion in nearby residential areas.
