Department officially acquires site for new Knocknacarra Gaelscoil building

Galway Bay fm newsroom– The Department of Education has today announced that the obstacles facing the construction of a new school for Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh have been overcome.
The department has confirmed that a contractor has been appointed for the major building project in Knocknacarra, which had been subject to planning delays.
The new building will have 24 classrooms and capacity for 600 pupils, and will be located opposite the pitches at Millars Lane.
It’ll also have a library and resource room and special education classrooms, as well as 36 parking spaces.
Councillor Donal Lyons says construction will begin early next year.
