Official opening for upgraded secondary school in Castleblakney

Galway Bay fm newsroom – An official opening of new sports facilities and a major expansion at St Cuan’s College in Castleblakney gets underway in the next hour. (11am)
The school, which has over 300 students, will open eight new rooms and a new Astro Turf pitch.
The new rooms will replace existing prefabs at the site.
It’s part of a major refurbishment which has been ongoing at the school, which has also seen the school re-roofed, and the installation of state of the art gym facilities.
Mass will be celebrated at the school at 11am by Patron Kevin Doran, school chaplain Fr Vincent McDevitt and board member Fr Ray Sweeney.
Principal Colette Kennedy Walsh says it’s great news for the school community.
