Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Glinsk-based T.D is calling on the Transport Minister to address concern about an E.U requirement to install tacographs in tractors from the New Year.
Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice says it’s ‘ludicrous’ that farmers would not be allowed to travel more than 30 miles in their tractors once the tacograph is installed.
Speaking in the Dáil, Deputy Fitzmaurice also asked that the test people must take in order to be allowed to hitch a trailer to a vehicle, should be tailored to cater for people of all educational levels.
Deputy Fitzmaurice also said in the Dáil that it’s unrealistic for farmers in rural Ireland to be limited to a 30 mile radius.
