County planners approve retention of development at Tuam waste plant

Galway Bay fm newsroom – County planners have approved an application for the retention of development at the WERS Waste plant in Tuam.
The application concerns the existing industrial waste recycling, recovery and transfer building including loading ramp, existing weighbridge and weighbridge office.
Permission was also sought for the completion of works to the final section of the existing building and for the installation of five roller shutter doors.
The application also sought for the extension of the retaining wall along the southern boundary.
County planners have attached 15 conditions to their grant of approval.
One states that the permission does NOT allow for the existing retaining wall along the eastern boundary.
It’s also stated that the development permitted be used solely for dry waste recycling.
