Galway Bay fm newsroom – A solidarity march will take place in Athenry this morning to show support for Apple’s planned development of a major data centre near the town. (Sunday 6/11)
It comes as the tech-giant has asked the High Court to fast-track a legal challenge which has stalled its plan to build the 850 million euro centre.
Last month, two applications to seek a Judicial Review of the decision by An Bord Pleanála to allow the Data Centre, were granted in the High Court.
Two locals are seeking a Judicial Review of the An Bord Pleanála decision.
A third person, who it’s understood lives in the east of the country, is seeking a second Judicial Review.
The solidarity march, led by the newly formed ‘Athenry for Apple’ group, will get underway at the Railway Station at 11.15.
