Minister accused of failing to commit to Gort lowlands flood relief plan

Galway Bay fm newsroom – OPW Minister and Galway East TD Sean Canney is being accused of failing to commit to a flood relief plan for the Gort lowlands.
Galway East TD Anne Rabbitte says the county council has been liaising with the OPW in an attempt to devise a plan, but there has been no confirmation of a strategy for the region.
She claims that Minister Canney is taking a ‘hands off’ approach to what is an serious issue for people living in Gort and the surrounding areas.
The Fianna Fail deputy says questions raised in the Dail have been met with vague responses that offer no commttment to a badly-needed plan.
