Meetings ongoing on future opening of long awaited Ballinfoile Castlegar Centre

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Meetings are continuing in an effort to open Ballinfoile Castlegar Neighbourhood Centre before the end of the year.
It was officially opened in May of this year after a campaign spanning three decades.
However, the doors of the facility remain closed to the public as year end approaches.
Meetings are ongoing to discuss the management of the new centre, which will be run by the local community in conjunction with city-based organisation, SCCUL.
Long-time local campaigner Brendan Smith says they had expected to have the centre up and running by now.
