Galway Bay fm newsroom – Hundreds of people from around the world are set to descend on Glenamaddy this afternoon (22/08) for the International Limousin Cattle Congress.
The congress is hosted every two years in a different country and brings together the world’s premier limousin breeders and experts to exchange views, research, and market and technical information.
Ireland is this year’s host nation – and Glenamaddy is one of several locations nationwide chosen by the Irish Limousin Cattle Society to host the prestigious event.
Delegates are today visiting award winning herds in Clare and taking in sights along the Wild Atlantic Way – and will make their way to the Equestrian Centre in Glenamaddy at around 4pm.
There they’ll witness a cattle show showcasing the best of the breed and enjoy a range of musical and dance performances from local talent.
Organiser and Tuam area councillor Des Joyce says the event is a major coup for Glenamaddy.
