Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Loughrea-based company has been ordered to pay 46,000 euro to a former employee following a ruling by the Employment Appeals Tribunal.
The tribunal has upheld an unfair dismissal claim by Athlone resident Denise McDonnell – a former personal assistant for her husband, who is a director of Fes Express Limited.
The independently owned firm operates a number of Supermacs outlets and a service station in the midlands – but has no ownership connection to Pat McDonaghs Supermacs operation.
The EAT report states that by July 2013, relations between the company and Denise McDonnell had deteriorated, and her employment was ‘terminated unilaterally.’
The Irish Daily Star reports that Ms McDonnell has been awarded 46,000 euro.
