Galway Bay fm newsroom – IDA Ireland is being urged to outline its plans to bring further foreign investment into Ballinasloe.
Ballinasloe Municipal District is to issue an invitation to the body to present its plans for the east Galway town at a future meeting.
Members have suggested that an advance factory could be provided within the IDA’s 23 acre site in the town in a bid to generate further jobs.
Last month, Surmodics unveiled its plan to invest 7 million euro in its Ballinasloe base adjacent to the site, gradually expanding the current workforce to 132.
Ballinasloe area Fine Gael councillor Aidan Donohue says two firms are already located in the vicinity of the IDA site and more could be attracted.
