A ‘Prom to Prom’ walk took place in Salthill this afternoon to show solidarity with the people of Nice in the wake of Thursday’s attack.
The event was organised by Galway’s French Community.
People gathered at the Prom to sign a symbolic book of condolences – a large French flag to be sent to the people of Nice.
The gathering then walked to the wall at the prom where French Consul for Galway, Catherine Gagneux, addressed the crowd.
French Consul Catherine Gagneux says the attack has hit the French community very hard – and marks the third time she’s signed a book of condolences for France in Galway in just 18 months.
