Her Excellency Ms. Mari Miyoshi will attend at conference on Ireland and Japan’s co-operation in terms of biomaterials and tissue engineering.
A programme between Japan and Ireland was established in 2014 after Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe exchanged visits and decided to increase co-operation between the two countries.
Ambassador Miyoshi will attend the NUIG conference along with seven Japanese scientists with expertise in biomaterials, stem cell technology and tissue engineering.
The Director of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science London, Professor Nobuo Ueno, will also attend the event.
The two-day conference gets underway at the Hotel Meyrick in Eyre Square tomorrow.
