Galway Bay fm newsroom – A major paramedic training exercise is underway in Ballinasloe.
The HSE-run exercise is part of a two-year training programme for paramedic students, and exposes them to a realistic mass casualty event.
The Ballinasloe event will involve over 150 participants from the emergency services, Civil Defence, Red Cross, Order of Malta and Scouting Ireland.
It’ll take place in the Creagh area from around now (midday) until 10pm.
Tomás Connaughton is Education and Competency Assurance Officer – he says it’s an important exercise.
