Galway Bay fm newsroom – 87 jobs were delivered by Galway’s Local Enterprise Office last year.
The national LEO annual jobs survey has been published today, and reveals that the Galway office worked with 245 clients during 2015.
These clients employ a total of 900 people across Galway.
Nationally, a net total of over 3,500 jobs were delivered by Local Enterprise Offices across the country in 2015.
The 31 Irish offices provide a ‘first stop shop’ for start-up supports, micro-enterprises and small businesses.
They provide funding for projects primarily in the manufacturing and internationally traded services sector in a bid to promote strong exports.
The LEOs also help entrepreneurs to access the full range of state supports available to them from Revenue, the Department of Social Protection and the Credit Review Office.
Breda Fox is Head of Enterprise for the Galway office, she says the LEO offers important supports to new businesses.
