Galway Bay fm newsroom – The newly appointed Minister for Communications, Roscommon Galway TD Denis Naughten, says rural Ireland is his top priority.
Deputy Naughten’s portfolio also gives him responsibility for Climate Change and Natural Resources.
He’s the only Galway TD to be given a senior ministry in the new Cabinet.
However, he’ll be joined by two other Galway voices at the Cabinet table, as Milltown native Mary Mitchell O’Connor takes up her role as Jobs Minister, and Tuam native Finian McGrath embarks on his career as a super junior minister with special responsibility for disability.
Speaking to NewsBreak, Minister Naughten says his priority is to ensure economic recovery across rural Ireland.
