Hundreds of people queued in the city this afternoon to meet the former Commander of the International Space Station, Chris Hadfield.
The Canadian astronaut became famous across the globe for tweeting pictures and videos from space in 2013.
Commander Hadfield is visiting Galway as part of a promotional tour for his new book, You Are Here, which is a collection of photos of Earth taken from space.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm news earlier, Cmdr Hadfield sent a message of support to the people of Paris following last night’s terror attacks.
