Galway Bay fm newsroom – The 11th annual Connemara Mussel Festival will get underway this week.
The festival was originally started to promote the excellence of the mussels in Killary Harbour.
Since then it has grown into a festival promoting local food, culture, heritage and community in the Tullycross / Renvyle area.
Cooking demonstrations will take place at the festival marquee at Paddy Coyne’s pub in Tullycross and an Artisan Market will be opened in Thatched Cottage No.1 in the village.
The festival gets underway on Friday April 29th and runs until Sunday May 1st.
Marian Harriot from Connemara Mussel Festival says there will be something to interest everyone.
