Galway Bay Fm newsroom-A new exhibition on the history of womens’ education in Galway will open in the city on today (Monday 28/3)
‘Womens’ Histories’ aims to recognise the effort of past students of the university through an exhibition of their publications held in the library.
This group of women featured was among the first to enter university in the decades after 1879, the year that university education was legally opened to women.
The exhibition has opened in thge past hour ( 9 am) at NUI Galway’s James Hardiman Library, and will run until next Sunday, the 3rd of April.
